Taken early 2006, this photograph was one I actually took time with back then. Whereas I was normally obsessed with firing off bursts, this photo of the statue took some planning. The first day's results were very poor as the sky was a dull grey and I could not get the framing right. I abandoned the zoom and fired off this one using a 50mm at f/4 (short dof, but worked well after the hyperfocal calculations). This was shot with a deep blue filter.
What are hyperfocal calculations? Framing, the silhouette, the statue and your composition are excellent. Maybe a tighter crop could work, but that sky is both beautiful and unusual!
